Whew.... It's been a while since my last blog post! I've been working non-stop so it's been hard keeping the blog up-to date. If you don't already, follow me on social media where I do more frequent teasers :)
While I'm here, I have to gush a little bit and say how much I've absolutely LOVED photographing all the new clients in 2017 and this first part of 2018! I am SO thankful for all the referrals my amazingly loyal clients continue to send my way!
Ready for photos!??!?
This is Carter! You know those really sweet souls that just make your ovaries burst? He's one of them. Big sister was absolutely amazing with him during my in-home session. We spent a good portion of the shoot in her room jumping on her bed, tossing her stuffies in the air while mama snuggled her sweet boy in his fresh and adorably decorated nursery. When I do in home life-style sessions, it's my goal to capture all the newness of adding to the family. Their house was warm, beautiful and filled with that oh-so-sweet newborn smell. Mom and dad have so much to be proud of! Congratulations on your son. I can't wait to see where the stars lead him!
You Guys! You have to see this adorable and so porcelain like little lady! She and her family bumped into me while I was setting up my grand opening event and I am SO lucky to have shot their family session this year! Millie and her parents were so sweet and I can't wait to cross paths with them again!!! Here are a few from their sesh:
The most wonderful and kind girl is officially engaged!
I've had the pleasure knowing Ms. Julia for some time now as she is my husbands 2nd cousin. We've shared many family Christmas gatherings together at Grandma Carol's place.
I've always observed her sweet and shy personality but seeing her with Andrew (that handsome guy you'll see below) really impressed me. The glow that radiates off of her is breathtaking. She's got this confidence and laugh. Oh, that laugh! She's wholeheartedly in love with this Andrew of hers. I'm married into the family myself so I can't be too protective but I can assure everyone else that these two are undoubtably headed down a long and happy life together!
Congrats Julia + Andrew. I'm so honored you chose me to capture your sweet love story.
The ONLY thing I love more than chocolate covered caramel is the freshness of a sweet baby. Meet Audrey. She was so fresh and new when I met her at the Monticello hospital. In the mere 20 minutes I got to hang with her, we laughed and cried (mostly her) together. She's the most beautiful little thing I've seen. Huge shout out to her new mama and daddy. They've been wishing for this day for a long time!
Little Miss. Hattie. I cannot imagine a life without her. She's the most petite ball of energy I've EVER met. Get this. She strolls into each session telling me how to work the camera and what she's going to do for me while she's in the studio. Hands down, she might just be my favorite 3 year old ever!!
Watch out world. Haitie's here!
Most of my clients have unique and awesome stories and these 4 are no exception. You'll probably recognize this couple from a few years ago when they made their official adoption announcement. If not, see it here. I've had the pleasure of shooting both of their little lady's newborn sessions now (see Lily's here) and I am grateful for the opportunity to show you their newest hunny, sweet Dani!
Congrats to mom, dad and :: very happy:: big sister!!
What can I tell you about Miss. Ana? She's cool, she's funny, she's got the best laugh. She's pretty and she's super athletic.
She's so excited about graduating and starting her college career at the U of M.
She's got so many neat opportunities coming up in 2018 and I sincerely look forward to watching her rock the crap out of her last year of high school!
Prepare for pink overload!
The sweetest of the sweetest spent her first birthday in my NE studio and I have fallen in love with this little darling! She may have become a fan of me too! Proof is in the last photos :)
Happy Birthday little lady!
LOOK at these beauties!! Jody, big sister and that adorable bump of theirs were so much fun to photograph last week. I first met their family when Hen was just a teensie-tiny thing. Now, she's as cute as a button with all her twirling and soft giggles. She's so attentive and loving towards her mama + baby already! I can't wait to see her in action when baby arrives!
Have I mentioned how much I am loving all the mini sessions this year? I have a jammed packed schedule and this is my first I get to share with you!! Jaclyn and her boys joined me for a 30 minute session last weekend and they nailed it! Capturing genuine and candid moments is what I live for and these three were nothing but just that! Thank you for choosing me to be your photographer! I hope you enjoy these beautiful moments for years!
Meet my first family session in Buffalo, MN! I am extremely excited to share this session and tell you all about this amazing family!
It all started when I decided to open up my second studio location. I (by I, I mean my husband and I) have been working between work, shoots and our family life to get the new location up and running. We have just a few strips of flooring to complete and then we're (by we're, I mean me) ready to rock! In the meantime, I have been itching to use the organic landscapes I see EVERYWHERE around my new diggs so I blasted out a family Model Call and this was the lucky winning family!!!
This family was spunky, pretty, handsome, and really amazing singers! If I recall correctly, they (the kids, not the parents) sang: "Dave likes to wear dirty underwear" for about 90 minutes. If you aren't aware, it's a fabulous little tune from Alvin and the Chipmunks... (You're welcome, you're going to sing this for about 2.5 hours.) :) Anyway, they sang and danced and it was lovely! So many parents stress over getting the perfect family shot and forcing littles to sit, focus, slinging bribe after bribe but it's just not organic. It's not how I want to shoot. It's not how I want my clients to remember their session. I want my families to have energy and enthusiasm. It's real. It's enjoyable. It's beautiful, and darn it, it's framable!
I hope you will come and see my new studio when it's open (watch for the announcements on Facebook, Instagram, the web, etc. ) There are going to be great things happening out here in the Western suburbs. I hope you will follow along and make memories with me soon. For now, I would like to share these beauties!
Meet the expanded Larson family! Mama and Daddy along with two very lovely big sisters brought in their new little babe, Remy for an updated family shoot. Little Remy was such a snuggle bug and his toes were the cutest! His big sisters (who are actually quite petite) stole the show! Miss. M was missing a few teeth and was VERY proud of her new look - take a look, she's adorable!
Congratulations to all of you, you have the perfect little family!!!
Cooper is the coolest kid. He brought me around his daddy's fire station for his milestone birthday session and it's pretty obvious that he feels right at home. He showed me all the bells and whistles, rocked his helmet, and giggled A LOT. It's been fun capturing this sweetheart over the years and this session of his might be my favorite. He's such a sharp kid and has such a kind soul!
I hosted my first ever bunny sessions this year and HOLY EASTER, were they fun! Here are just a few of the sessions!
Last year these sessions went ridiculously fast so this year I am hosting my Mother's day sessions on two dates!
Sunday, April 30th & Sunday, May 7th.
These sessions for Mom will include:

I met these two at Rice Creek Park for a few organic pine tree shots then headed to the US Bank Stadium for the fun photos! Krista and Kurt are pretty involved in sports and are die hard Vikings fans so this session was right up their alley. Kurt was such a good sport and I know they will have a lifetime of fun adventures ahead of them! Their next being in late April!
I LOVE the Where the Wild Things Are theme, and sweet little Jack pulled it off so well!
Mama brought in a sprinkled donut for the shoot and it blows my mind that no one else has ever done that. It really was a neat twist to the traditional first birthday cake smash.
Wishing you a very happy birthday handsome Jack! You're such a doll and I can't wait to watch you grow!
Meet Nikko & Ryan + lulu!
This adorable mama to-be is absolutely stunning at 33 weeks! Check out the shots in the amber room at the Guthrie below! I can't even tell you how cute her little belly is in that fitted striped dress!
Meet a very special New Years baby named Grant. He came into the studio for his first birthday session ready with a beautiful plane themed cake and props. We had expected an epic cake smash but he was so sweet and a true gentleman about it! I always enjoy these 12 month milestone sessions because the kids are adorable and you can really see their personality, and first time mama's usually rock the shoot with amazing themes! If you're interested in these plane themed props for your little one's session, Grant's mama is amazing and has an interest in renting them out.
Eric and Max were married in October and were so very handsome in their coordinating navy suits. We took advantage of the always gorgeous Gold Medal Park then walked to Day Block Brewery for their intimate afternoon ceremony.
