As I reflect on 2012, I feel incredibly honored and thankful. I happen to feel pretty spectacular about all of the amazing people I have photographed, the ones I have met who inspire me, and the ones I now call friends.
Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. I believe it all started when I'd flip the pages of a National Geographic at my grandpa's feet. I had an instant desire for unknown and unique things. I wanted to capture moments that would forever change perspectives. In high school and college I took film classes. The developing and reveals of the compositions spun me into a direction I never imagined. I wanted to know more. I shot roll after roll of nothing just to throw my hands in a little mixer. I could have spent consecutive years in a darkroom. The dynamic range of digital clearly trumped film. I spent a number of months attempting to customize my antiquated equipment but ended up falling in love with the new. With that, I stared my digital collection. I introduced and eliminated pieces while always finding myself fond of macro. I live for evolution and really want to feel that in my work. To date, the success of my wedding and engagement business has really been marvelous. I am often asked if weddings get tiring. My answer is always "NEVER". Frankly, my photography is emotion driven. I have, on many occasions, cried and shot at the same time. I shoot as truthfully as I can and enjoy relationships as much as I breathe. I have found my niche. I am excited for endless possibilities, and I look forward to seeing what will naturally unfold in 2013. Much Love! Emily |
