Mel and Daren are one of my 2012 couples who were referred from another bride and groom I have worked with. This couple, like all of my lovely clients, were full of energy, and so enjoyable to work with. Mel is so incredibly pretty and Daren is a show-stopper with his funny and extroverted personality. Their personalities even caught the eye of one gal who invited herself into our session. Of course, this can happen to any un expecting couple but Daren and Mel graciously played along.
While they do play nice, most of the time, they have a serious baseball rivalry. I tend to fall in love with brides who have a glittery personality and plan a pink everything wedding but Daren has such a charming style and IS the Twins fan... tough choice! : ) Anyway, September 7th is their date. Pink is the theme. And, I can't wait! I recently met this mushy gushy couple at a wedding show. Their personalities (and Carl's fantastic "Lennon" glasses} stood out to me. Naturally, I was tickled pink when they called me to book their September event. After a few "get-to-know-ya" phone calls we were comfortable capturing their engagement session at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. This just happened to be the same location Carl popped the question. Of course, we had to reenact the proposal. I am a huge fan of proposals. I am fascinated with the details and emotions that go into each and everyone. So, to see him drop to one knee and relive that phenomenal moment is incredible! I can't help but be completely emotional and so very happy for them. One might think this gets old, the feeling fades after so many couples/events... Nope! Not for me.... My heart is happy.
Okay, enough about me.... Take it all in. This couple is in love! This engaged family is as cute as they come! Sweet little man in his adorable suspenders, newly engaged mama is super sassy and sexy, and proud daddy and husband-to-be is incredibly charming and handsome. {He was quite dapper in his bride-to-be's grandfather's vintage shirt!}
I am thrilled to be their photographer and share their story with the world. They have so many awesome ideas, props and plans. I can't wait for all of you to see how this creative couple puts a stunning September event together. In honor of Earth Day, I scooted out of the big City for a lovely state park (my favorite one) engagement session. Katrina and James graciously hiked the trails with me, in an effort to find unique little photo spots. I do appreciate clients who allow me to do what I do and just tag along : )
Each time I post an engagement session, I mention that I had a great time and can't wait to shoot their upcoming wedding. This one is seriously right around the corner... Just 31 days away. Seriously, it is going to be A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.! |
