So… most of what you see on my blog is weddings, because that is 95% of what I photograph…and I love it. BUT! I do absolutely love photographing senior sessions as well! It is so much fun for me to focus on bringing out the personality of a single individual in an image… especially someone fun and colorful! Over time, I’ve learned that photographing just one person is a very different challenge and a perspective-shift from that of capturing emotion and interactions between two people at a wedding or engagement session, and I just love conveying these unique personalilites and statements in photographs! I am looking forward to many up -coming senior portraits this fall!

To learn more visit: Emily Theisen Photography's Treasure Hunt Contest I recently spent a few hours with some of the nicest people I know! They are expecting their second little beauty at the end of this month. Big sister Madeline was MIA for most of this session, hopefully we can get her in the next one!
My husband and I were out celebrating our wedding anniversary on Saturday. We found a nice little table at the Nicollet Island Inn where we enjoyed the romantic atmosphere and fine dining. While we were eating, a cute couple was seated right next to us. Little did we know he was about to propose to the girl of his dreams. After all the excitement and on our way out I asked if I could snap a few pics!
Congrats, what a LOVELY setting to begin their life together! We intended to meet at Minnehaha Falls, but ended up at the Walker's sculpture garden. It was a chaotic day at both locations; the Sweedish Festival and Pride. But, the presence of wonderful people all around us set the mood and we were able to pull it off!
They, too, are a very easy couple. Real, relaxed and classic. I absolutely loved hearing their romantic engagement story and look forward to their October 2011 wedding! I met this couple at Minnehaha Falls, for the very first time.
This was a perfect little spot for this classic couple. Teachers, parents and simple. It never gets old meeting a couple and personally getting goosebumps as they hug. True love is obvious in this beautiful bride and groom to be. It was FABULOUS! The weather, the site and the couple...
Katie and Kevin asked me to shoot in Royalton, MN at the Groom-to-be's childhood friend's property. I was STUNNED! The freshly cut grass, a perfectly placed woodpile, the rustic red barns, the crystal clear stream rolling in the back yard and the sweet old wooden swing made this shoot easy! Their friend recently acquired this phenomenal site from his grandparents and worked hard the entire 4 hours I was there. Katie and Kevin are lovely, simple and so playful! This session was one of my all time favorites. I can't wait for their 2011 wedding! {for more photos click on the Clients Tab above and find their image.} |
