What a marvelous sunny October afternoon to be married! The couple planned a beautiful event with their closest friends and family then celebrated with an intimate outdoor ceremony in Baldwin, WI. Their day was a sweet, magical, full of surprises and comical personalities... Did I mention the canons that fired as the officiant pronounced them Mr & Mrs...?! (I still have chills)
Their reception was equally amazing.... The fabulous live band kept the party going all night long! Congrats and welcome to the wonderful married life. I am honored to have been part of your event! xo Bride's Gown: Priscilla of Boston Bridesmaids dresses: BCBG Groom & groomsmen's tuxedos: Men's Warehouse Floral Design: Brilliant Bouquet Company Hair: The Beauty Lounge Minneapolis Band: Popluxe | Musicians Unlimited Ceremony and Reception Venue: The Orchard | Baldwin, WI I was recently given an opportunity to work with this Central Minnesota couple. With a little convincing, they headed to Minneapolis for their engagement session. The groom, like most, was not overly excited about being photographed and I, admittedly, was pretty nervous about how I was going to convince him this would be amazing. When Michelle hit the restroom for some last minute polishing, I jumped into action hauling Keith around the Guthrie. I know I overwhelmed him with all the facts I threw at him but we admired the views and he respectfully listened to me. I cautiously started shooting and took the "clients choice" approach. This ended pretty quickly as they realize subtle direction from a professional was important. I knew he was comfortable when a charming and relaxed smile bounced back at me. We hit a few floors, then ventured outside. Since none of my engagement clients have ever shown up in camouflage, I figured outside was much more his element. We wandered off the strip and found ourselves in the woodsiest area possible (for downtown). Things became very natural and I was able to capture some wonderful images. To make a long story short, the session ended in hugs, lots of laughs and a sense of joy. Well, see for yourself.... I think Michelle said it best! I was extremely nervous, b/c u know I'm uber hard on myself & how I look, especially losing weight I can never just be ok with me..so I raced thru as quick as ever hating my face & arms in every one.. but I sat there & let the slideshow just play & holy crap Emily!! Frikkin kick ass job! I am always up for a good deal but when it comes to cold and long lines, I'm out. I realized redeeming in my sweats from my couch sounds fabulous, and am excited to share these great offers with my new and existing clients! NEW Wedding clients: $400 off! Valued clients: 30% off!
This family is really dear to me. Jennifer is a good friend of mine so when she contacted me to take "the family photo" this year I could not resist. This AMAZING couple has been busy raising two incredible little ladies. Each time I see the girls I am more in love. They have such gentle personalities, loud infectious giggles, and dimples to die for. I promised I wouldn't share all of the goods before their holiday cards go out, so here is just a sneak peek of their session.
ps.... don't ya just love Jen's hair? She was pampered and styled by Annie S. at the Minneapolis Beauty Lounge. xo Amanda and Carl exchanged beautifully written vows overlooking a sparkly sun kissed Bryant Lake Regional Park. The setting was completely magical. I knew, from the beginning, that this couple wouldn't fall into the category of "traditional" which is why I was thrilled to capture their story! This couple took table decor to a whole new level. They hand crafted arrangements based off of their favorite television and video games. Of course, they completed each scene with a characterized version of them selves. Take a look and see if you can pick them out!
