Stunning! That is the best word I can use to describe this couple & their event. This couple took tradition and vintage glam to a whole new level! Their fine details include; the bride's 1930 vintage ring and stone that has never been set, a lace butterfly wrap which was a piece from the bride's great grandmother's veil, and the groom hand selected all of the beautiful (did I mention BEAUTIFUL) vintage broaches that were delicately displayed in the bridal bouquet. When Erica unwrapped her bouquet for the first time, her jaw dropped to the floor with excitement! The groom, T.J., is one of those guys who everyone loves. His phenomenal personality, love for life, and an incredible eye for the very finest details are exquisite. {The bride, of course being the finest!} Erica is quite lovely herself! My eyes welled with tears as she stated her vows. Promising to accept the things she cannot change and love him for all that he is as the head of their family. I can't even begin to pretend I recall the entire exchange but it was the most romantic & sentimental service I have ever heard. I had a really hard time selecting my 20 images for their blog post. Typically, I select one image from each event throughout the day but there were so many wonderful memorable images, during each, that I feel this post can't even do their event justice. I'll invite you to see the few that I did cull, and share in this couples magical day.

Kristin and Dennis looked stunning in their classic bride and groom attire, and their wedding party was spunky and charming, to say the least! The groom's father, Robert, officiated the ceremony and brought tears to my eyes as he shared stories of the groom. The groom now wears his grandfather's ring as a symbolic gesture of a man who will respect and cherish family for the rest of his life, just as his grandfather does. The groom was also gifted his father's prized Harley motorcycle. The groom started riding at the tender age of 6 months. If you are still not impressed, see the groom's grandfather's fully restored car. The groom and his family are mechanically talented and have an incredible respect for family heirlooms. Congratulations to Kristin + Dennis. I can't wait to see where the stars lead you. Bridal Gowns: David's Bridal

Before I stumbled upon this fantastic article, I had no idea there was such a trend. However, I did know this is my biggest challenge at the events I am hired to photograph.
Even at my own wedding, I have many images of my aunts, cousins, and random people blocking my photographer from very significant moments. One that comes to memory is my cousin (in a short little dress, flashing almost all of her rear) standing the in isle to take a photo. Chances are she had no idea she was blocking my photographer. But, the photographer (I paid - a lot of money for) missed the opportunity to capture my husband and I sharing our first married kiss. And, over 4 years later - I still have yet to track down the image my dear cousin took. Grrrr.. The Bridezilla/photograper-zilla in me tells me this is, without a doubt, the way to go. With that being said, it is slightly unrealistic to take away all photo opportunities for guests. This is where I, as your photographer, kindly ask guests to turn off their flash, step aside, and remind them that all professional images will be available in the couples online gallery. If you are interested in reading another fantastic article (click here) or if you are on board but need inspiration on how to properly inform and ask guests to respect your UNPLUGGED event check out these templates! The bride-to-be and I had discussed a few ideas for their session but when they showed with over 20 colorful balloons, I almost fainted from excitement! The only concern was the 90 degree temps and forceful wind. We traveled around the City and managed to survive the heat by hopping back into our air conditioned vehicles between locations. Hopefully, we'll have more comfortable weather for their August celebration. : ) Jesse and Rachel were so sweet and full of nervous giggles. {loved it!} So, without further ado - the props and polished images really do provide a little peek into this couples relationship and adorable lifestyle. xo I am happy to share this awesome video of a very sweet, talented woman I happen to know. She is quite a gal... makes me wish I was as confident and outgoing! enjoy! You may recall this adorable couple from a recent earth day engagement session I shared. Their 6.2.2012 wedding was just as stunning, and it is SOOOOOO awesome to work with couples who are genuinely lovesick for each other. : )
The bride is incredibly talented and crafty! In addition to planning, raising her two small children, working/school and enjoying life, she also managed to cleverly assemble all of the table arrangements, thank you gifts, and phenomenal goblets that were displayed for each of her friends at the head table. Her ambition is certainly a quality I can admire! The couple had a romantic ceremony under a beautiful tree surrounded by their very closest friends and family. The bride's cousin, Ashley, is a phenomenal vocalist and sang during the couples sand ceremony. Their dinner and reception immediately followed, and was gorgeously embellished with hues of purple, lime green and black arrangements. Can I mention just one more talent in this family...? The Bride's grandmother graciously painted the guest tree, where they were asked to "leaf" their thumb print and name. Stunning keepsake, for sure! I am really lucky to have had this couple referred to me. I truly felt like part of their family by the end of the evening festivities. Congratulations Katrina, James, and all of your dear family & friends! xo Event Details Bridal & Bridal Party Gowns: Davids Bridal Tuxedo: Mestads Formal Wear Music: R&R Entertainment Cake: Cold Spring Bakery Florist: Bride's talents Event Site: The Grands at Mulligans | Saint Cloud, MN Sin and Adam are married! Their event was beautifully decorated and planned. The weather was phenomenal for their outdoor nuptials, and butterfly release. Mom walked the bride down the isle and we all shared in her happy tears. {you guessed it, I was choked up and crying right along with her and all the guests!} BEAUTIFUL memories for all! The dinner was excellent and the music kept the party going all night long. Congratulations to a wonderful couple!
